There’s nothing like watching the sun, rising or dipping below the horizon, in the Dhauladhars. Often referred to as the Lesser Himalayas, the range starts from Dalhousie in Himachal Pradesh. The pictures are taken from somewhere on the roads at Dalhousie, as the Sun was just about to dive into depths of darkness.
Driving around in the mountains, it played hide and seek for long, often coming out with a glint from somewhere in the clouds. The windscreen was often set on fire, turning strange shades of orange as it met us on treacherous turns. That was the ride of a lifetime.
Needless to say, most of the drives in the Himalayas are that!
