This one, again, is from Dzongu village, Sikkim. I was hiking up towards the village from the side of River Teesta when I came across this waterfall gushing down. It was one of those Alice in Wonderland moments, when you know that you are in a place where anything could happen and it does happen! This scene looked so surreal that my camera work in no justice to it. Still, here’s my waterfall discovery for you.
The ancient-looking suspension bridge, with prayer flags fluttering on its sides, looked entirely out of the world. Those were the only colours that were different from the lush green that is all over Dzongu, spreading across like foliage on a city long lost. Just that the place is very much real, dreamy real.
I’ll not be using a watermark on any of the images in the “Photo of the Day” series as they mar the entire visual. Sincerely hoping that you would report if you find the images copied anywhere else!
If you’re fascinated by the vista above and wondering about the location and more information including how to visit Dzongu, the best time to visit Dzongu or the best of things to do there, do check out my other posts on Dzongu and my photo essay on Sikkim.
Dzongu might soon become a lost city owing to the proposed power projects on River Teesta. A biosphere reserve, the region needs to be protected rather than destructed. Please join hands with the Affected Citizens of Teesta to raise your voice against the projects. They need more people to make their voices heard.
